Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any additional questions, please mail advocattery@gmail.com to ask. We will be happy to address any additional questions there.

How much do you usually charge for kittens?

Depends on a couple factors, including coat color and how close they align with the breed standard! All kittens start at $2200, with female kittens being slightly more expensive. This is because we have to cover our costs, and this covers vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and labor and care of your kitten. Please be wary of breeders that have significantly lower prices - this usually means they are cutting costs in the care of their kittens!

Do you have a waitlist? How do I reserve a kitten?

Yes! We do. If you are interested in joining the waitlist and reserving a kitten, please read our application process here.

Do your kittens come with a pedigree when they go home?

The kittens will go home with TICA registration, allowing you to register the kitten as a purebred ragdoll cat. The full pedigree is an extra cost with TICA, but after you register your kitten, you are able to order whatever pedigrees you want through TICA (3 generation, 5 generation, or vertical).

I don't want to miss out on the kitten stage. Can you make an exception and do 8 weeks?

No, we cannot make an exception. However, we understand that 8 week old kittens are extremely cute and we want to make sure you get to experience it. After a kitten is reserved, we allow future owners to come visit our cattery to meet their kitten in person. We will also send pictures and videos of the kitten, and can also video chat.

What is included in your price? Why do you charge the amount that you do?

Our kittens go home neutered/spayed, with 1st and 2nd round of vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, TICA registration papers, 2 year health guarantee, a few days of food, and their favorite toy(s). We charge the amount we do to cover all costs on our end to raise the kitten, and because our price includes a neuter/spay, it is greater than some catteries that don't, as this surgery can sometimes be up to $1200.

What is the "chat" for in your application process? Is this like an interview?

We try to use your answers to the application as a type of interview, but use the chat to ask additional questions that we may have for you, and to answer questions you have for us before we move forward. We will also go over provisions of the contract and deposit to make sure we're on the same page. You will also have a chance over the video chat to meet our cats!

Why do you send kittens home at 13-14 weeks? Some breeders do 8 weeks

We send kittens home at this age for two reasons. First, the 8-12 weeks period is extremely important for kittens to socialize with their mother and littermates. Here is a resource if you want to read it, but you can also use Google to find more information. Second, we spay/neuter kittens before they leave our cattery, which can be done only at 12 weeks. Please be wary of any breeders who send kittens home before 12 weeks.

Do you do discounts for two or more kittens?

We do not, sorry! Additionally, we do require one deposit per kitten.
